Loose Braces or Poking Wires
Call our office for advice if a brace or wire is loosened. The bracket will need to be repaired sooner rather then later as to not delay treatment. As teeth move the wire may poke out in the back and cause some discomfort. When this happens please call the office and we will find a time in our schedule to get things put back together. It is necessary to have an appointment for this procedures. If you have a loose brace or poking wire and it is after regular business hours or on a weekend you can use orthodontics wax to give you some relief until we are back in the office. If you are unable to get relief by using the wax you can clip the wire with a pair of hard wire clippers. You can find wire clippers at a craft store or automotive store. Be careful not to pinch your lip with the clippers. Applying brace relief gel will give temporary relief to a sore in the mouth that a wire or brace has caused.
Discomfort with Orthodontic Treatment
